There are a number of excellent online resources for additional help and information on ID-theft. Here is a list of the sites we recommend:

Federal Trade Commission - www.ftc.gov/idtheft
An excellent one-stop resource for facts, figures, and advice. Also includes information for businesses, which most ID-theft resources ignore.

Identity Theft Resource Center - www.idtheftcenter.org
Provides a wide range of education and statistics. Founded by a victim of ID-theft.

Privacy Rights Clearinghouse - www.privacyrights.org
The consumer advocacy group offers advice, statistics, and education for consumers as well as resources for the media and legislators.

Experian - www.experian.com
Equifax -
www.equifax.com
TransUnion -
www.transunion.com

The three major credit bureaus provide links to consumer information, as well as the ability to report ID-theft incidents online.

Anti-Phishing Working Group - www.antiphishing.org
This group is dedicated specifically to Phishing - unauthorized email that attempts to trick you into providing your personal data or account information. The website offers advice for consumers as well as a list of recent Phishing scams to watch out for.
